  • Department of Pathology started functioning from the year 1954 since the inception of our prestigious institution.

  • Our diagnostic services include histopathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, clinical pathology, 24 hours central lab and highly specialized services like immunohistochemistry and frozen biopsies reporting over 15,000 cases in histopathology, 5,000 cases in cytopathology and 45,000 cases in hematopathology annually.

  • Our department also aims at imparting best knowledge to the undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Allied health , B.Sc. MLT, DMLT, B. Pharm and D. Pharm  students inspiring them to come out with flying colours as good health care professionals.

  • Our annual postgraduate intake has increased from two to eight MD postgraduate seats since 2021.

  • We are planning to establish a molecular diagnostics laboratory in the near future.

  • As Pathology is a fast updating field, we strive hard to keep ourselves updated in knowledge and skills by conducting regular CMEs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, journal clubs, clinicopathologic case discussions and integrated learning sessions.

  • The smooth functioning of the services provided is made possible with the help our HOD, professors, associate professors, assistant professors, postgraduates and the laboratory technicians team.
