NSS Unit, Madurai Medical College: Plantation Drive Report

On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Madurai Medical College organized a successful Plantation Drive to commemorate the invaluable contributions of doctors and promote environmental sustainability. Under the esteemed guidance of our respected Dean Sir and Vice Principal Ma’am , the event saw enthusiastic participation from 30 NSS volunteers from the 2022 and 2024 batches.

A total of 25 saplings were planted across the college and hostel campuses, symbolizing our commitment to a healthier planet and a greener future. The initiative aligned with the NSS’s mission to foster community service and environmental consciousness among students. 

The volunteers worked collaboratively, ensuring each sapling was planted with care and dedication and a commitment to maintain throughout the year.

The event not only honored the medical profession but also reinforced the importance of environmental stewardship in building a sustainable community. The NSS Unit extends its gratitude to the college administration, and volunteers for their unwavering support. Moving forward, we plan to monitor the saplings’ growth and organize follow-up activities to ensure their upkeep.

This Plantation Drive was a meaningful tribute to National Doctors’ Day, blending healthcare appreciation with environmental action.
