MaNaM ACTIVITIES
MaNaM (Mananala Nallatharavu Mandram) program is initiated in all Government Medical Colleges of Tamil Nadu for suicide prevention and improving the mental health of the students.
“MaNaM”
(Mananala Nallaatharavu Mandram)
The Government of Tamil Nadu has come up with the initiative of creating the “Mind Health Support Forum” named MaNaM (Mananala Nallaatharavu Mandram) as an initial phase in all Government Medical, Dental, Nursing, and Paramedical Colleges in Tamil Nadu. Later, the programme shall be up-scaled to all other colleges in the State.
This MaNaM will ensure empowerment of students by democratizing scientific knowledge through regular consistent awareness generation activities and training programs on mental health. The students will be empowered to identify cues and symptoms related to psychological problems and offer immediate support to their peers.
MaNaM sensitization programs are being conducted on a regular basis for Postgraduates, Undergraduates, and Paramedical students to promote mental health and well-being. A special 24×7 helpline is being maintained for Medical College students.
